I play guitar and ukulele, in the clssic rock style (usually). I write songs as well. I hope to start a band one of these days.
For now, this bit is mostly blank, but in the future I hope to have some career based stuff in here! 🙂
Every once in a while, I post song lyrics I’m working on. If I do, they’re under the “my music” category (found in the list in the footer).
My Music Tastes
I listen to classic rock. I don’t go for most modern music. So often, it’s auto-tuned, synthesizer and computer based stuff. There’s no perfect imperfection, no magic of the human performance, like there used to be. And to be honest… I have a hard time telling voices apart these days. Sometimes I think only people that sound a certain way can be popular (if so I’m screwed lol). Singles are king, albums are dead, and all the money comes from touring, not sales, because everyone steals the music these days. Why pay an artist so they can do this for living when you can just steal it and act like it’s okay to say to the musician, “hey, I know you do this for a living and all but I really just don’t think your work, which I am a fan of, is worth anything so I’m just going to steal it, okay?” I ALWAYS pay the artist, unless the song/album/whatever is out of print simply cannot be obtained any other way. (like with the Tarney-Spencer Band’s stuff, [their company went out of business and took the publishing rights down with them] or Journey’s Departure album, which is mysteriously unavailable, along with all but one of tracks from it that happened to be on a greatest hits release).
I love vinyl and want an old fashioned record stand with storage on the bottom for my room. I love the idea of (when I’m living on my own) coming home from work, changing clothes, putting on a record and going to make dinner. Records are just so awesome! And they sound amazing. I’ve already started my record collection. 🙂
So… what do I listen to, you ask? I’m glad you did!
I’m going to make a list. If you don’t want to read a giant list that probably will do nothing but bore you, which is really for all the total music nerds out there like myself, you can just know my top two, tied, favorite bands are Triumph and Genesis (and Phil Collins but he’s not really a band, so…. y’know…).
Anyway: (If you aren’t reading the list, this is the end of this page…. FYI. :p)
