What matters is though life uncertain be

To all? What ghough its goal

Be never reached?  What though it fall and flee

Have we not each a soul?

Be like the bird that on the bough too frail

To bear him gayly swings

Be carols though the slender branches fail-

He knows that he has wings.

-Victor Hugo

This is the way to cultivate courage: first, standing firm on some conscientious princilple, some love of duty; next, by being faithful to truth and right on small occasions, and common events; and third, by trusting In God for help and power.

Rev J  C Walker
