How poor are they that have not patience! What wound did ever heal but by degrees?

There is nothing that needs so much patience as just judgment of a man, or even of one act of a man. We ought to know his education, the circumstances of his life, the motives which filled his act, the health he had at the time, the temptation of his youth- We ought to have the knowledge of God to judge him justly; and God is the only judge of man.
-Rev Stopford Brooke
Do not think of your faults, still less of other’s faults; in every person who comes near you, look for what is good and strong; honor it, rejoice in it, and as you can, try to imitate it. For the rest you will find it less easy to uproot faults than to choke than by gaining virtues. If, on looking back, your whole life should seem rugged as a palm tree stem, still, never mind, so long as it has been growing, and has its grand green shade of leaves and weight of honeyed fruit at top.
-John Ruskin
