Oh, if the selfish knew how much the lost,
What would they not endeavor, not endure,
To imitate as far as in them lay
Him who His wisdom and His power employs,
In making others happy.
That man lives twice that lives his first life well.
How sour sweet music is
When time is broke, and no proportion kept!
So it is in the music of men’s lives.
Keep your heart’s windows always open towards heaven.
Let the blessed light of Jesus’ countenance shine in; it will turn tears into sunshine.
